Objects find a new life and meaning in Ursula Stalder's compositions. These amazing works cause the viewer to re-examine material, color, form and content, often inspiring the viwer to look with a new perspective. Each object brings with it a unique history, a mysterious unfolding story.
The arrangements of the objects create a type of code, a language, perceptible to everyone. The language has the potential to awaken and expand how the viewer looks, sees and feels forms & colors, exposing beauty where one might least expect to find it.
Her work consists of objects that are both man-made and from nature. The man-made objects have been conceived, produced, distributed, purchased, used, and eventually discarded. They have then been transformed by nature; such as sun, sand, tar, fire, salt and friction, then reincarnated into their new life in the form of compositions, sculptures, or installations.
Since 1992 she has been traveling to coasts worldwide such as Egypt, Korea, Namibia, and Argentina, relentlessly pursuing the discarded objects that make up her amazing compositions, installations and sculptures.
Ursula's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide.
